What we've learned from 9/11

Below is my comment on the article of "What we've learned" Page 18,TIME Sepetember 11, 2006.

You article’s episode of an American businessman clearly showed the American people what they have lost and learned from 9/11.

What they’ve lost is the trust and respect from the world mainly because it is now obvious that the war against Iraq was a mistake by President Bush and his advisers with no evidence of Hussein regime’s holding the mass destruction weapons and the links with Al-Qaeda that were the good causes for starting the war at the outset.

What they’ve learned is that there is and will be no panacea to seal off terrorism all over the world even though they have the strongest military power to fight against them. Now then, the world should reunite to root out terrorists not for the sake of only the American interests but for the citizens’ all across the borders.

Japan's Mystery of MAJESTY

Below is my comment on the article of "Japan's Mystery of MAJESTY", Page 16, TIME, August 31, 2006.

As one of the Japanese ordinary citizens, I felt some sympathy with the royal family because it seems that the Imperial Household Agency has been overly interfering with the family affairs to preserve its dignity as the symbol of the state and resulted in the tail wagging the dog situation between the agency and the family.
In order to recover the trust from the public, this shadowy government body should act sincerely as the servant of the Imperial family as well as the people. What is more important, we as the Japanese citizens loving the royal family, should watch every detail of the agency’s behaviors more carefully.
